Thank you all for another successful Sing for Water Portsmouth, we raised just over £1,800 this year! Great fun was had at the Square Tower including Mike & Sue’s Water Bucket challenge for Water Aid, during the finale of ‘Bring Me Little Water Sylvie’!
Thank you one and all for a very successful concert on Sunday 11th May at St Judes, Southsea. We raised £730.97 for Naomi House/Jack’s Place Caterpillar Appeal. Here is a photo from the rehearsal just before the concert, where the mass choir of Southsea Community Choir, Sounds Lively Singers (IOW) and Southsea Infants school were practicing ‘Thina Simunyae’ by the Agape Children’s Choir (South Africa).
A great afternoon was had by all! Thanks also to ‘Squally Shower’ blokes shanty group, for their debut performance at the concert, who went down a storm!
Catering crew and front door helpers were wonderful! Serving tea/coffee and home made cake to over 200 people in 20 minutes must be a record!

We also had a seasonal sing at QA Hospital in the foyer, the Saturday before Christmas, which was well received.

Thank you to the guys who came along and sang on Sunday 28th April. Well done for braving the cold April afternoon. They had 240 visitors on the day which was great! Thanks to Simon for playing some folk music too and the Polite Mechanicals! See you in June. If you’d like to take part next time, email: email@example.com
Thank you one and all for a wonderful concert. We had an audience of over 200 on the afternoon of the 21st April at St Judes, for the afternoon concert. Southsea Infants were fabulous, Southsea CC we great and the first ever gig by the Polite Mechanicals went down a storm. We raised just over £950 on the day, which is phenomenal, it really is, considering the difficult financial times were going through. Beating the Blues is a really very worth while project, bringing people together through singing, improving people’s well-being… and having lots of fun. Thank you again to all who came, the choir’s cakes for the interval, Catherine, Margorie and Jilly for organising the refreshments and all at St Jude’s Church for making us feel so welcome in their lovely church. Maybe see you again next April? CD sales for the choir will take the total to over £1000, so a great success!
Singers are in good spirits at the end of the last rehearsal before the concert!
